Daytrip to Ile Aux Cerf
The boat trip from Trou d’Eau Douce to Ile Aux Cerf is in itself reason enough to explore Ile Aux Cerf, because it is the most beautiful views both to Ile Aux Cerf and to Mauritius from the sea. The island of Ile Aux Cerfs is located near the east coast of Trou d’Eau Douce. Ile Aux Cerfs is a tiny bounty island with picture perfect white beaches and lovely crystal clear water and a few palm trees. The island is private and and the owner has developed the island to be one of the top tourist attractions in Mauritus with lots of activities including golf, jet ski, catemaran cruises, diving.
We hired a private boat from the local harbour in Trou d’Eau Douce. The cost was 50 USD return. We had the boat to ourselves and it was a wonderful cruise. Both of our kids really enjoyed the boat trip and so did we. The view from the boat to Mauritius was breathtaking. Our son was allowed to help our captajn steer the boat and he was thrilled.
After 30 minutes we arrived in Ile Aux Cerf. The tiny island is indeed a small piece of heaven. The island has lots of swaying palm trees and pure white sandy beaches framed by clear turquoise waters. Be aware that the beach is full of corals, so bring shoes for the kids. In the middle of the island there are jungle and lots to explore. The island is well developed with a bar and a restaurant. Both are expensive and not really worth the money, so consider bringing snacks.
We really enjoyed our daytrip. Our baby girl slept in her stroller in the shadow of a palm tree while our son explored the beach, the sea and the jungle. We had bought him a snorkel mask and he discovered a whole new underwater world of colored fish.
Ile Aux Cerf is a perfect daytrip with kids being!Share on Facebook
